“Under the Influence”

    Influence is huge.  It’s not possible to enter into a day without influence.  Even if you choose to stay in bed all day there still had to have been an influencing external thought that told you not engaging life is a better idea than leaving your bed that day.  We are bombarded with influential messages: you read it, you listen to it, you watch it and you speak it- influence.  In May we will delve into all things influential.  I would like to influence you to be here for all the sermons in May!

During the month of May, Weston United Methodist Church will be collecting prayer requests from all over the Weston Community and will be praying over these needs. No situation is too big, no request is too small. Neighbors, coworkers, acquaintances, family members, clerks, waitresses, store owners... everyone knows someone who is needing prayer. Our goal is to seek out as many of these needs as possible and pray over them for 31 days believing God for miracles and breakthroughs.

175th Anniversary History Book Website now available!
 

Weston United Methodist Church is compiling a history book to be published in April 2013 to commemorate the 175th anniversary of the founding of the Church in 1838. The church congregation and general public are invited to follow progress on the book by clicking on the book image below.

Anyone knowing of old photos and information in private records relative to the Church or to Church members is requested to contact the General Editor by e-mail at: wumchistorybook@centurylink.net or telephone 816-386-2476.

Approximately half of the book will be devoted to the Church history, and half to family histories.  Each church family is urged to submit a family history, including a family photograph. To encourage broad participation each family has been allocated free page space for this purpose.
